Carbon Cycle V2

Carbon it is in every living thing and is all around us. You will probably want to know. What it is? How does it affect us? Is it important? Well, this piece of writing will explain what Carbon is. Plus how the Carbon Cycle keeps everything on this Earth functioning.

One part of the Carbon Cycle is called Decomposition. This is where the plants and animals that have stored carbon inside themselves die and eventually start to decompose. Then they break down into smaller matter. This causes the release of all the stored carbon inside its self. Into the atmostsphere.
Another part of this cycle is called respiration, this is a big part for humans. It is also known  as breathing. Respiration can be from plants, aquatic animals and humans. When we inhale we are taking in oxygen and letting out Carbon Dioxide. All living matter does this, and will release Carbon Dioxide out of there bodies and into the air.
When trees and other Carbon things fall into a lake, river or the sea the Carbon inside will move with it. So when it falls underwater it either biodegrades while it’s sinking. Otherwise it will degrade and become part of the underwater soil for plant life.
Photosynthesis  is when a plant takes in the Carbon around it and it gets stored inside itself. That is when the plant uses sunlight to transform the carbon into oxygen.
Compaction is the stage when all the Carbon inside things like fossils and dead trees have sunk underground and are compacted to precious minerals like Oil and Coal. These minerals are being taken above ground to be used by humans to power homes, run cars and for other cheap manufacturing goods. When we do all of these things we are releasing Carbon into the atmostsphere.
Humans are releasing Carbon Dioxide into the air much faster than when we were not around. The cycle may become unbalanced if we keep using our carbon resources like this, our planet will not function properly.
